Planning meeting – Barefootdance 12.5.10

Attended by: Mark, David, Laurence, Angela, Kath and Karen

We discussed volume control of the music in the sessions. It was agreed that we could try asking for a volunteer each week to be in charge of putting the volume up and down through the session, to share this responsibility around.

A reminder that anyone who wants to hold the space we would more than welcome this. In fact we would positively encourage it!!

Marketing: Mark is happy to do some posters to keep up the publicity. Laurence will also produce some more feet for people to hand out.

Sound System

We thought about whether anyone in the group might want to borrow our sound system for a party or event on occasion and whether that might be possible. We agreed it would be possible, we would ask for a donation of £25 and the agreement that if there was any damage to them it would be paid by the borrower.

The programme – a request for another Shamanic Trance dance was put in. An evening with live music was requested. A one off Suzanna or Ya’acov was talked about. Also Fanny was requested. People also liked Joanna Watters. We also wondered about asking a proper DJ to come along and give us a try.

Entrance fee – we wondered again about our charges. We agreed to keep the price the same for teacher led sessions which almost pay for themselves. Reflecting our improved financial situation we agreed we could extend the price down again slightly, so barefoot sessions will now cost £4 - £7 pounds.

Storage boxes – agreed to purchase a measly one new one (Karen).

Some interesting future ideas:

-         Shamanic Trance Dance – a trip to the tepee village is planned for the summer – watch the website for more information.

-         A residential possibly, does anyone have any good ideas for a weekend residential away we did one a few years ago and it was jolly good fun.

Finances – we currently have £679.43
